Visitations and service projects are a good way to learn about what the Pomona Host Lions Club does. The public is welcome to attend projects and join in our service. Just look for the Lions in their blue shirts and introduce yourself.
General Membership Meetings - Every first and third Thursdays of each month. Pomona Valley Mining Company, 1777 Gillette Road, Pomona, 12:10 p.m. Pomona Beautification Day -- April 27, 2019, locations throughout Pomona. Event starts at 8:00 a.m. at Pomona City Hall. This will include several projects around the city. Our project for this year's event is to work with the Red Cross in installing smoke alarms in residential homes. If you are interested in participating, see Denny Mosier. Feeding at the Homeless Shelter - April 30, 1400 E. Mission Blvd., Pomona. 6:00 p.m. until about 8:00 p.m. See Jo Fulton or WendyAnn Stuard if you would like to participate. City of Pomona Children's Festival - May 25, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Downtown Pomona Civic Center, 550 S. Garey Ave., Pomona. Lions will be there with a table. Friends in Sight - June 1, Fremont Academy, 725 W. Franklin Ave., Pomona. Event is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At this event, Lions work with the Chino Valley Lions Club and local eye doctors, checking vision and providing eye glasses for those who do not have vision insurance and cannot afford to have their vision tested and corrected with eye glasses. Summer city of Pomona Concerts in the park - Every Thursday evening in July and August at Ganesha Park at 6:00 p.m. We will be giving out books and information to concert attendees. Murder Mystery Lunch and Play - Oct. 19, 2019, Sycamore Inn, 8318 E. Foothill Blvd., Rancho Cucamonga. Lunch is at noon and the play by professional actors starts at 1:00 p.m.
